Security PS Announces "Navigator: Application Security As A Service"

Security PS released information this week on a new managed service offering called Navigator.  Classified "Application Security as a Service," Navigator provides organizations with the technical expertise and business guidance required to effectively achieve their application security goals.

By combining both technical and strategic guidance, the firm has designed Navigator to guide an organization's application security efforts from a high level while providing actionable tasks.  Whether an organization is trying  meet audit requirements for the year,  wanting to build a new application security program, or trying to increase effectiveness of an existing application security program, Navigator service plans are custom designed to guide each company to reach its goals and avoid the pitfalls along the way.

CEO Kris Drent pointed out that goals and challenges can vary dramatically from one business environment to the next and that Navigator is designed to help organizations of various sizes and maturity levels.   Referring to the various challenges, Drent commented "In smaller or younger organizations, it can be difficult to know how to get started effectively.  In maturing organizations, it can be challenging to align application security tools, assessments, SDLC, practices, etc. so that they work together and are effective."   Drent believes this range of challenges is why a managed service can make such a dramatic difference in the outcome of application security efforts.  "In a partnership like this, we can provide foresight, reduce inefficiencies, and ensure each of those pieces performs to its greatest value to the organization" Drent concluded.
