Securing
Windows & Active Directory Training
Course Description
Windows security has become a huge concern in both the media and the business
community over the past few years. Microsoft has pledged to improve the security
of their products through better product design, development, and support. So,
what have those efforts produced and what areas of Windows still need attention?
Security PS knows the answers to these Windows security questions. We have
developed a training course that offers you the opportunity to learn how to
assess existing Windows system security, design and deploy secure Windows infrastructures,
and lock down computers. Aimed at security personnel, auditors, and system
administrators, this session will equip you with the essential knowledge of
how Windows security affects your organization.
The course starts with a demonstration of the vulnerabilities and configuration
problems of a standard Windows installation. You'll see how an attacker can
profile, extract information from, and then hack a computer running Windows.
Then watch as the security holes close using the techniques we discuss and
demonstrate.
Security PS experts will give you tips on:
- Implementing effective Active Directory and domain security
- Automatically enforcing company computer policies
- Locking down critical servers
- Addressing Windows authentication and encryption using technologies like
Kerberos, smartcards, and PKI
- Securing Internet Information Services (IIS) Web servers
- Deploying an enterprise software patching solution
In addition, Security PS will tell you about:
- The built-in Windows security features that may save you money when compared
to purchasing third-party products
- Software alternatives that do make better sense and how to use them
- Industry best security practices from the experts
Our course focuses on the Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 2003 products,
but also offers advice on security of legacy systems like Windows NT 4 and Windows
9X.
